Jamaicans Sweep Men’s 200m Sprint


The Jamaican men showed their dominance in the sprints by sweeping the men’s 200m at the 2012 Olympics in London. Usain Bolt got the gold medal and became the first man to win both the 100m and 200m sprints in 2 consecutive Summer Olympic Games. Yohan Blake took the silver medal and fellow countryman Warren Weir got the bronze medal.

The Greatest Beach Volleyball Team in Olympic History

Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh will probably go down in history as the greatest women’s beach volleyball team of all time. They won their 3rd straight Olympic gold medal in beach volleyball by defeating the fellow American team of Jen Kessy and April Ross. It was an all USA Olympic women’s beach volleyball finals.

It is reported that Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh may retire now after making history once again in the 2012 London Olympics. The amazing team won in just 2 sets, winning both with a score 21 to 16. Walsh and May-Treanor proved to the world once again that they are the best women’s beach volleyball team ever.

Kirani James Wins First Ever Olympic Medal for Grenada

Kirani James is a 19 year old who won the first ever Olympic medal for the country of Grenada! Not only was it the first Olympic medal for Grenada but it was also a gold medal! Kirani James won the gold medal in the men’s 400m event and became the first ever Grenadian medalist in Olympic history.

Missy Franklin: The Female Version of Michael Phelps

Missy Frankin may very well be the female version of Michael Phelps. She is definitely one of the top female Olympic athletes today. Missy Franklin was born on May 10, 1995 in Pasadena, CA. She is currently listed at 6′ 1″ and 165 lbs. Missy has won 4 gold medals in the 2012 Olympics as well as a bronze medal in the 4 x 100m freestyle. She set a world record in the women’s 200m backstroke with a time of 2:04.06.

Michael Phelps Finishes Career with 22 Olympic Medals!

Assuming that Michael Phelps retires after the 2012 Olympics, he will finish his career with a whopping 22 Olympic medals. 18 out of the 22 medals are gold medals! Michael Phelps has nore Olympic medals overall than anyone in Olympic history and has more gold medals than anyone in Olympic history.

Gabby Douglas Brings Home the Gold in Gymnastics All Around Competition

Gabrielle Christina Victoria Douglas known as Gabby Douglas is a 16 year old USA gymnastics superstar who won gold in the all around compettition on Thursday in the 2012 Olympics in London England.  She also won a gold medal in the team competition as well.
